Approx 2.7 billion sandwiches are purchased outside the home every year in the UK.

UK commercial sandwich markets is worth approx. £4.6 billion.

Approx 2.7 billion sandwiches are made at home (lunch boxes).

UK currently consuming nearly 11.5 billion sandwiches every year- thats 200 sandwiches each per year.

There ae 18 factories in the UK that manufacture between 1-3 million sandwiches a week.

Men account for 58% of  sandwiches purchased outside the home.

over 51% of the sandwich market is made up of buyers aged 25-44.

The UK sandwich industry is now estimated to employ over 330,000 people.

Live brief:
the aim is to introduce ‘fresh’ sandwiches in the USA.
In the UK 1.3 milliion sandwiches are made a week, and 1.8 billion a year!
The average price is about £1.67.
